February 12, 2008Dirty Laundry Departs
February 9, 2008Ever since I saw The Secret and the nice (but goofy) lady said, “If something bothers you, don’t talk about it, don’t join groups about it…”
I thought, uh-oh, don’t blog about it either?
Well, yeah. It doesn’t help to whine and complain about my pet peeves.
So here’s the spin. I enjoyed wearing this T-shirt from the boy store Dad shopped at. The store doesn’t exist anymore. The shirt has stains and a little hole chewed in it by a bird. I’m letting it go. I’m making room for a T-shirt that has more relevance and a professional appearance. It’s the feng shui of attire.
Chipolte-Lime Ranch
February 8, 2008Notice the bottle is EMPTY. YUM!
Chipotle (pronounced “chee-POHT-lay”)(I always pronounce it “Chee-Powl-Tay” and nothing can change that~ “Today it is commonly misspelled and mispronounced as chipolte, an error of metathesis.”- wikipedia), the flavor craze of the 2000′s, eh.
Chipotle-Lime Ranch, my new favorite dressing (If it’s on sale for less than $3.99 for 12oz) from Follow Your Heart and bought at the Oly Food Coop.
versus the very cheap Bufalo Chipotle
which doesn’t really do it for me.
Note the bottle still has quite a bit still in it. It’s months and months old. I may have to use it up in a soup soon.
The Show and The Letter
February 6, 2008Most cryptic of all on Ron’s To Do list for 2008 is ‘Plan The Show’ and “Write the Letter’.
He is, as I’ve mentioned, a frustrated artist. He tells me that he’d like to put together an art show along with a letter of explanation, but he’s still a bit cagey, and I keep pressing him, “WHAT’S THE LETTER, RON?”
“Well, it’s not a suicide letter, if that’s what you’re thinking,” he says, ruffled.
“Oh, good,” I say then change the topic, “So how’s therapy going?”
“Therapy?” he asks, “I haven’t been to a counselor in years. Nope. I’m just solving things by myself.”
“Oh.”
Sure, by himself… with the help if Sig Sauer, Colt, Beretta, Walther, Magnum, Smith & Wesson.
“Gone on holiday by mistake!”
February 5, 2008On my most recent visit to West Linn I arranged to give Ron his Christmas present, a DVD copy of Withnail & I. We discovered the movie nearly 20 years ago (it was released in 1987, but we had only rented it on video), and I was pretty sure he didn’t have it in his collection. I only bought the standard edition. There is a new 3 Disk 20th anniversary edition. Neither of us is that big of a fanatic. I think.
Needless to say, he was as pleased as punch with the standard copy. He reciprocated by giving me a 5 CD set of Mozart he’d bought himself but never opened.
Then I brought up the notion of getting some pictures of his guns. He was skeptical but willing. He didn’t want his face on the internet, nor does he want to draw the attention of criminals trying to steal them. Did I mention that he keeps them in a HUGE SAFE!
Ron first tells me that he’s got a picture in his phone, which is similar to mine. He shows me a pic of a 1911 Colt combat stainless that’s still at the gun store. I ask if he can send it to me. He hasn’t figured that out yet. Trish helps him.
Actually, the one he has is a 1911 Colt combat blued (which means black, go figure). It’s from 1991. Lot of 911′s in there, eh?
Chasing Arrows to the single A
February 2, 2008Chasing arrows do not guarantee safe passage from shelf to curb to factory to shelf again.
Not all numbers within the triangle (Resin Identification Code) are accepted for recycling.
I’m SO THANKFUL the city switched to one giant comingled bin.
