In other news, following up with stories that have been repeating… not buying from China… buying local… giving local…

Grampa Joe and Grandma Jill got.. Autographed copy of “Collect Raindrops” by Nikki McClure.

Since Grampa Dave and Grama Julie PROBABLY won’t check for blog updates before their flight I can spill the surprise: they get a copy too! That’s how thoughtful I am.

Now Dad and Julie ALSO got two tickets to a show in the nearby Purple Rose Theater. Nearby Chelsea is nearby to Gregory and the boonies.

They saw The Poetry of Pizza, by Deborah Brevoort sponsored by Domino’s (which originated in Michigan)

This guy on the left looks a bit like Grampa Dave!

“Professor Sarah Middleton arrives at the University of Copenhagen as a visiting poetry scholar, only to find her life irrevocably altered when she stops by a local pizzeria one night. She falls suddenly and unexpectedly in love with Soran Saleen, who wins her heart with his unconventional pizzas. Across a huge cultural divide, their unlikely courtship arouses the passions of everyone around them, setting in motion a rash of culinary courtships and a chaotic comedy of errors.”

and what else…?

Well, at church I ran into Thalia’s parents, Darleen and Ray. She said her father once went through an entire store and only found ONE item that was NOT made in China.

It was Chinese Checkers.

Made in India.
